Latest news to Land from Tooquin states that the French Commander had decided that the bombardment of the town of Hue ihould be commenced on the 13th instant, when active operations were to be resumed against the Anamese. Capetown, August 15. Intelligence is to hand from Zululand reporting that another great battle has taken place between the followers of Cetewayo r.nd those of ITsebepu, re■ulting in great daughter on both sides. Usebepu's followers were defeated, and the chiefs escaped with difficulty. Vienna, August 15. A flysheet, promulgating Socialist principles of a violent and seditious character, has been distributed broadcast through all parts of this city. The event has caused great excitement. Received August 18, 1 a.m. London, August 16. The wool market is quiet, arrivals to date for next series of sales now amounting to 43,000 bales. August 17. Dr W. C. Macgee, the Bishop of Peterborough, <vho for some time past has been in a critical state of health, is now recovering. Rome, August 16. His Holiness the Pope has appointed Dr Brownless, Vice Chancellor of the \i elbourne University, to be Knight of the Order of Pius IXBeulin. August 16 Disquieting rumors are in circulation regarding the health of Prince Bismarck. No official bulletins, however, have yet been issued.
