Owing to the breaking of a chain a cage fell to the bottom of tlie shalt, and twelve miners who were on the cage were killed. A report is current that a rupture has occurred in the relations between Italy and Morocco, and that in consequence thereof the Italian envoy at Tangiers has lowered the flag at the embassy in that town.
