Company congratulates shareholders on the satisfactory result of the past year, but regrets the loss of the Waitara with 26 lives. The City of Perth has been added to the fleet and a contract has been entered into with Elder ami Co., of Glasgow, for three steamers, 3000 ions each, with a sea going speed of Vi Knots. to he of steel, the first to he launched this month, nnd will leave England in '} Octoher. The report then refers to the ! successful passages of the direct line of I ste'imers during the year, and tlie establishment of important refrigerating 1 freights. The insurance account has met the loss of the Waitara and stands at LSOSI. Balance at credit profit and loss after covering losses and allowing for liabilities to close of the financial year, is L 36.523, recommended to he appropriated as follow?:—L7o<>0 to reserve fund, which will then be L12D.O00; to dividend of ten per cent, of which moiety was paid in Jan., L 12.627 ; carried forward, Ll 6,395. H. Tancred has benn joined to the board. The retiring directors are Coster, Murray, Aynslev, and Tancred, all offering for re-electi-'-n Dividend will be payable on August 15th.
