County Elections.

<> The polling on Saturday last resulted in the return of the following gentlemen : — Kiwitea R. Mcßeth Waituna A. P. Douglas „ R. Linton At the Kiwitea Mr Mcßeth defeated his opponent, Mr Williamson, by, a majority of 26. As Mr Mcßeth polled 52 votes, it shows 2tol in his favor. The Waituna election was keenly contested at Halcombe. The decided favorite was Mr Linton, who heads tbe list with 97; Mr Douglas follows with 67. Mr Lash polled 47 votes in Halcombe and only 4 votes in Feilding. Mr Fry polled 25 votes in Feilding and 9in ' Halcombe. Halcombe is consequently well represented in the new County Council.
