At the Victoria Racing Club's Winter Steeplechase Meeting to-day the Grand National Hurdle Race was won by Dizzy, and the Grand National Steeplechase by Blackthorne. During the latter race, one horse, Chrysalis, fell, killing the jockey, Mclnnes. The prisoner Burns, who was found guilty of the murder of Michael Quiulivan, at Wickliffe, in 18«0, has been sentenced to death.
