Wellington Supreme Court.
« (pes united press association.) Wellington, This Day. At the Supreme Court, this morning, the case of Hunt v. Sir Arthur Gordon was commenced, before his Honor Judge Richmond and a special jury» Mr E. Shaw appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Harper for the defendant. The action was brought for the recovery of £8000, damages for false arrest and deporting the plaintiff out of Samoa. When the Court adjourned Mr Shaw, for the plaintiff, had not concluded the opening address. Later. At the Supreme Court this morning Mr Shaw continued his address in the case Hunt v Gordon, and it is expected he will continue till late in the afternoon. Bofore His Honor the Chief Justice, tho case of Mokona Kohere, M.L.C. v. Riemenschnicder (Nativo Interpreter), was brought on — an action to recover upwards of £700 the amount of rerauner* which defendant is alleged not to have accounted for. It was agreed to defer tho case until the next sittings at the Police Court. A young man mimed 11. Nicholls r .7as committed for trial for forgery.
