CORRESPONDENCE.
The School Bell. TO THE MHTOB OF THB STAB. Sir, — < an you tell me what has become of the bell which arrived in Feilding about 18 months ago for the purpose of i "ringing the little ones unwilling to | school." This quotation from Mr Hal- | combe's already familiar prediction has j never been verified beyond the case of a ; small hand bell rung at the door of the j school house, and after all of very little use, as it cannot be heard except by those scholars who are already very nearly in school. What are the School Committee doing that they don't have our "little Ben" hoisted to his proper position, and let everybody, especially tue scholiirs, henr his " welcome" voice? A short toll a few minutes before the opening of each session of the school, and another at the exact lime of opening would certainly have a tendency to induce that punctuality so much desired in the scholars* attendance. '-I am, &c, Sell Metal.
