Special to "Star." reuter's telegrams. Received June 16, 1.15 p.m.] London, June 15. A despatch has been published, iv whioh Earl Derby, Secretary of State for the Colonies, announces that owing to the withdrawal of the Cape Colony from the administration of affairs in Basutolaud, the English Government has resumed control of that province. In the House of Commons to-day the Hon Evelyn Ashley, Uunder- Secretary for the Colonies, in reply to a question, stated that despatches had now been received from the Queensland Government, urging the annexation of New Guinea. Capetown, June 15. Intelligence is to hand that the British resident in Zululand has resigned his position.
