The motive is ascribed to be jealousy on the part of the female prisoner. The House of Assembly has been successfully lighted with the Lane incandescent electric lamps. Received June 16, 0.55 a.m. Sydjtby, June 15. Sir Patrick Jennings has resigned his seat in the Cabinet as Vice President. Ihe Executive Council understood that Ministers do not think a successor will be necessarily required. Meluottbxe, June 15. The final course for the Australian Club Cnp was won to-day by Rhodar's Rhodanthe, with Maid Oburn as runner up. The Stormont Plate was won by Wrangle. The trial of the prisoner Sweeney, alias Longmore, for robbing the Colonial Bank at Brunswick, was concluded today. The accused was found guilty and sentenced to five years penal servitude.
