It has transpired that the Queensland < iovernment hare ordered two gunboats and two torpedo boats for the defence of that colony. In the House of Commons last night a motion for providing grant 3by the State to enable Irish tenants to purchase their farms was brought before the House by the Conservative leaders, and after a long discussion was agreed to. London, June 12. Captain G. O. Whalley, junior M.P. for Peterborough, has resigned his seat.
