Departure of Father Moreau

Since it was first intimated to us in a local published in the Inangahua Herald, that the Rev Father Moreau, C.P., was about to change the scene of his labors by removing from the Manawatu, mauy anxious enquiries have been made as to hia probable future field of usefulness. We now learn that he is to succeed Father Soulas, in his charge of the Natives up the W an S anl " Ri v er, and that Father Carew will take up the duties laid down by Father Moreau in Feilding. The whole of the residents in the Manawatu will regret the departure of Father Moreau, who has gained the esteem and goodwill of everyone in the various settlements surrounding Feilding where his duties as a priest have called him. His quiet, unassuming, yet steadfast life as a Christian gentleman has afforded an example to. many ; . and he stands as one ___r .a»s peur et sans reproche.
