EKUTER'S TELEGBAMB. Received June C, 10 30 p.m.] Melbourne, June 6. A deputation of several Presbyteriau Ministers and members of Parliament waited on Mr James Service to-day to urge the importance of the colonies uniting with the Imperial Government to annex New Hebrides, Solomon Islands, and New Britain, or to establish a protectorate over the groups. The Premier, in replying, stated that he believed tbat it was England's special mission to civilize and elevate the dark races, and promised that he would consult hia colleagues on the matter, and take steps to further the views of the deputation as far as possible. Mr Service added that he attached great weight to the resolution of the Colonial Legislatures, which were better than Ministerial actions. Sailed — This afternoon, Duion Company's steamship Tarawera. for the Bluff. It is estimated that 15,000 tons of wheat will be available for export during the coming season. Mr Redmond, M.P., held his first meeting here to-night. Mr James Francis is now slightly better. Mr Napier Broome, C.M.G., the new Governor of Western Australia, arrived at Perth yesterday, and was most cordially received.
