Feilding State School.
TO THB BDITOB OF THB STAB. Sib. — Referring to the meeting of the Wanganui Education Board, as reported ici the ( hronicle, I an} somewhat surprised at the result, and I am of opinion that some undue back-door influenceJ»a» been at work, because a lot was said apparently by the Board that could only have been prompted by persons outside of the cqoJ* mittee. It is very singular that within a day of the meeting of the Committee, which passed a resolution that Mrs Dowling and Miss Goodison should be removed and their places filled by competent teachers, Mr Foulis, the Inspector, should make a surprise, visit, and discover that Mrs Brown was incompetent, very surprising indeed, more especially as Mr Foulis, on previous occasions, expressed i himself highly, pleased, wi(;h thegteac^bing of that lady; it would be rery interesting to know the reasons ■ of., his sudden conversion.'' With respect to the petition received by theßtf&d — have they treated the committee with courtesy P I trow not. . My t vfofc* *© the committee is to thoroughly "sift tto matter and not rest satisfied;/ f ntal, thei» recommendations re organisation of th» teaching staff of the school ate eaxefiilly enquired imto. — I am, &c, ' ■:■■:■ .
