A Contradiction.
It is very painful for us to have to draw the attention of our readers to a gross pervcrtioii in a report of the , A dv~>cate on the 13th instant of the proceedings of the State School Committee meeting, held on Thursday last. Mr J. C. Thompson', the Chairman, is reported ns follows: — " The Chairman said it was not a true representation. He denied having said some things that were put in his month by the local paper." In the presence of the whole committee, last night. Mr , Thompson denied having made any statement as above quoted, and considered ie was an invention of either the reporter or editor of the Advocate. Further comment is needless.
