Before the conclusion of the sittings of the Intercolonial Conference, a resolution was passed in favor of the reduction of rates on press telegrams from Europe by 25 per cent. It was also decided that Intercolonial telegrams between Victoria and New South Wales should be reduced to one shilling per ten words. The other colonies represented would not agree to similar reductions.
