• At a : nieeting held in the Town Hall, on Tuesday afternoon, called by circular, the attendance was very limited, only 22 persons being present in response to 350 invitations. Mr Macarthur was called to the chair, and expressed his regret that so little interest was displayed by the persons most interested, viz., the farmers. The number of cows guaranteed wias only 100, and the shares applied for 150. Messrs Sherwill, Monrad, Saxton, Banks, Gascoigee, and several others addressed" the meeting, and expressed, a determination to push the formation of a company as much as practicable. Mess.r* Thomas Saxton, Caldwell, Marshall, Dermer, Banks, Bismark aqd Thompson 'were appointed a committee to canvass their respective neigbboinoods and report at a public meeting to be held on Monday, the 21st instant, at 7.30 p.m., at the Town Hall. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
