♦ — : — [pee united teess association.] Wanganui, This Day. The half-yearly session of the Wanganui Supreme Court opened this morning, before His Honour Sir James >Prendergast. A heavy calendar was presented. It comprises thirteen charges, including 'manslaughter, perjury, indecent assault, breaking and entering, housebreaking, child murder, stealing from dwelling, assault with intent against Europeans, also charges of wounding, perjury, stealing, and larceny as a bailee. True bill's were returned in the cases of the Maoris, Hemi, stealing from the person, Tui Mati'ha, larceny as a bailee, Elizabeth Jacks, stealing from a dwelling, and John O'Donnell, house breaking. Tui Matiaha pleaded guilty to larceny, and was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment.
