KIWITEA HIGHWAY BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above was held at the Manchester Board •office on .Monday last. Present — Wardens Taylor, Williamson, McKenzie and Davies. The minntes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was also ■cad; — .From the Manawatu Highway Board we balanoe sheet, and refusing to agree to the terms proposed, and intimating that if the Board will not accept the balancesheet the matter will be referred to the (Government Arbitrator. From Crown Lands office re deferred •payment moneys. From Registrar - General requesting statistics for the past year. Resolved, That the clerk inform the Manawatu Board that as the balancesheet amended by their auditor does not meet the approval of the Manawatu Board, it is considered by this Board that the carrying out of the proposed audit twill be tbe only way to arrange the difficulty. Mr Phyn waited on the Board to hear itheir decision re the proposed deviation •of Mackay's road. Besolved, That the Board is willing to pay half the cost of acquiring the land tor the proposed -deviation (£'l3) if the (County Council will bear the other half. Resolved, That the Clerk have the nrard accounts made out by next meeting, | showing the credits and debits to each ward. Eesolved, That £5 be expended on the •end of the road between the Oroua and Slakino "Wards, from the Kimbolton road 4o the Oroua River, on consideration that ithe settlers subscribe an equal sum. Resolved, That the engineer call fcr tteaders for work on Waituna road. Resolved, That the engineer lay ©ff Perry's line from Kimbolton road to th« Otamakapua Block, also certain work on Wilson's line, and Waituna road. Resolved, That no accounts be passed for payment till the ward accounts are iprqperly arranged. Resolved, That Cr Mcßeth be iequest•ed to take steps to have the following gaxetted as main roads -. — Taonui road, -from back boundary of Manchester mock, thence to and across Oroua River to Xambolton road, between section 218 and 219. Pohangina road from back boundary of the townships reserve at ■orth-eastern angle of section 68 of the Wanganui Harbor Block. The Board then adjourned.
