WANGANUI HARBOR BOARD BLOCK.

TO THB EDITOR OF THE FEILDIXa STAB. Sin, —l solicit the aid of your columns in venting a grievance deeply felt by the settlers on the "YYanganui Harbor Endowment Block, viz., in the matter of roads, or rather the want of roads, and which we feel to l>e a very great inconvenience. The winter is now corn inn on, and as yet nothing has been done towards making roads to our properties and homes. I think it is grossly unfair that after we have taken up sections of land on the block, we should find not only that there are no roads, but according to present appearances, never likely to be any. The board will, in my opinion, get a Teiy small price for the remainder of their land,_ and will be a long time selling it at all if the roads are to be Jeft unformed. I believe a certain quantity of road making has been decided upon, but the work to be done will leave the settlers already located out in the cold, as it will be of no benefit to them whatever. Do you think there is any chance of onr being aided in any way by the County P If so, perhaps Councillor Mcßeth might speak a good word for us. Roads have been made in various parts of the Kiwi* tea, owing to the efforts of Messrs Wil« hamson, Bryce and others, and I think it is high time that something was done here, or we shall soon begin to think that we made a mistake in settling here, in. stead of in some other more fortunate part of the district, where such accommo* tion as I have referred to is either already made, or has been provided for, and arranged to be done. —l am, &c, Sbttlsb. Kiwitea, April 12, 1883.
