THE OROUA BRIDGE.
TO THE EDITOT. OV THE EEItDTNO STAT.. Sib,— Many of your readers will be astonished to hear that we are again •threatened with the " terrors of the law" _f we presume to walk on the " railway." About a year since a similar order was issued, but was, I believe, recalled. Now I turn told each " ganger" has written instructions to turn off anyone found trespassing <on the permanent way or bridge, ft ;Now, sir, I hear it is the intention of the authorities .©erect a footbridge over the Oroua in connection with the present Tailway bridge ; and, until that is an accomplished fact I fail to see the wisdom of •denying _be privilege 'to footpassengers •of using what is at present, to them, the •only means of reaching Feilding. The have Tiscd the railway bridge since the opening of the Ike, and as yet no accident of any importance has taken Tplace; nor is any likely to occur if ordinary -caution be observed. Hoping that .•someone more acquainted with the _ir•cumstances connected with this "trouble" up the subject in your columns. — I am «&c., B. NNYTHOB-E. April -9,-1883.
