(PEB UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Napieb, This Day. The Church of England Synod spent the whole evening sitting in Committee on Archdeacon Stock's Bill for defining a communicant in statutes relating to nomination and election of parochial officers, as one who had subscribed iu the churchwarden's books, declaring himself a communicant of the Church of England ; or who, when challenged, subscribed such declaration. The result of the debate was that numerous amendments were negatived, and that the head and tail were cut ofi from the chief clause in the Bill.
