MANCHESTKR HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

At a meeting of the committee of the above society, held last night, Mr Nicholas in the chair, the report and balancesheet was read and adopted. The total cash receipts amounted to £68 16s 6d, and the expenditure £56 13s lld, leaving a balance of cash in hand of £12 2s 7d ; amounts owing to the society, £3 10s, and timber value £1, leaves the available balance for next season £16 12s 7d, less 29s for prizes unpaid. A proposition was carried to pay the judges £1 la per diem. Proposed by Mr i'owler and seconded by Mr Goodbehere, That Mr Stevens, the Secretary, be paid £2 2.°. An amendment, that this honorarium be £3 3s, was proposed by Mr Worsfold, seconded by Mr Fowles, and carried. It was resolved to pay the balance of the funds of the society into the Post Office Savings Bank until required. Proposed by Mr Worsfold, and seconded by Mr Goodbehere, That it is the intention of the society to hold a poultry show in connection with the next show — carried. A vote of thanks to Mr Goodbehere for his valuable services rendered as assistant secretary was unanimously passed. Jhe usual vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the business, and the meeting adjourned until the first Wednesday in September.
