OUR ENGLISH MAIL.
It appears somewhat singular that the English mails for Marton, Bulls and Sanson should be delivered generally about two days before the mails for Feilding. The explanation is that the mails for these places are forwarded via Wanganui, while those for Feilding and Palmerston are forwarded via Wellington. That is to say, our mails are carried rouud by way of Nelson and Wellington, to satisfy some inexplicable prejudice existing in the minds of the post office officials. It would be a very simple matter for the authorities to direct the diversion we now suggest to be made ; and would probably be a saving in trouble to the department. Let the Feilding and Palmerston mails be forwarded via Wanganui as to Other parts of the coast. By so doing the postal authorities will confer an obligation on the settlers.
