CORRESPONDENCE
A (OMPLAINT. TO THE EDITOR OF THE FEILDINO STAB. Sir, — Do you know whether there is any Inspector of Weights and Measures for this district, as, if there is such an official I think it is time he took a change of air by paing a visit to Feilding and its surroundings, where he would Ue likely afr the present time to do a little business in the way of making some of our local dealers contribute to the revenue, and securing to purchasers of certain goods in particular a little more for tlieir money than they are at present getting I have heard many complaints about this matter, especially with reference to " the staff of life," and that these are not without cause, I have proved by my own experience. Without wishing to bring home to anyone the charge of wilful dishonesty I think something should be done to effect a proper adjustment of the weights and measures used in retailing tradesmen's wares, and so prevent the grievance I now complain of. — I am, &c, Faeina.
