PALMERSTON - STILL" CASES.
[PEE UNITED PEESS ASSOCIATION.] Palmeeston, This Day. The case in reference to the illicit still came on for hearing at the R.M. Court this morning, before Mr Ward and two J.P.'s. Mr Fitzherbert, who appeared for the Crown, asked that the former informations should be withdrawn, and he now proposed to charge the defendants in couples, viz., Jessop and Peck, Malcolm and Flyger, and Charles and George Peck. Mr Shaw, for Peck Bros, Hawkins for Jessop and Peck, and Esam for Malcolm, objected, on the ground that the course of continuing to lay fresh informations was irregular, and at present no defendants were before the Court. Unless they voluntarily surrendered to their informations the cases could not be proceeded with. Mr Fitzherbert, after a discussion, elected to issue summonses for twelve o'clock against the defendants in pairs, as he had suggested. Great interest is being taken in the cases. The interior of the court is decorated with a collection of various peculiar looking tins, casks, taps, &c.
