—^ — (PEE UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.") Auckland, April 2. The London grain market is reported (Marcli 10th) dull and receding An experiment was made with an electrical tram-car in London on the 10th instant. It ran a distance of four miles satisfactorily, and fulfilled the requirements of the Board of Trade. It has bten ascertained that the rumor of Mr Parnell's intended resignation 4l his seat for the purpose of proceeding to America is untrue. Brannan, a former California Mormon millionaire, is at present at Garaymas, in Mexico, in want and misery. The Saint's organ at Salt Lake, mentioning the fact on March Bth, adds that it is a fulfilment of a prophecy made by Apostle Pratt in 1854, that Brannan. who is a Mormon recusant, should not die till he was in want of ten cents to buy a loaf of bread. It is understood that, if Patrick Egan liad appeared as a witness in the breach of promise case of Miss Hyland, against Mr Biggar, M.P., counsel for defence would have asked him whether lie had used any of the fund of the Land League for Miss Hyland's case. Mr Parneil states that he does not know where Egan is, but the balance of the Land League fund, £24,000, is quite safe. Two hundred girls left Limerick on the Bth March for New Hampshire. Almost the entire population assembled to bid. them good-bye. Lady Florence Dixie, in a letter to the Times of the Bth March, charges Mr Biggar and Mr Parneil with failure to account for £42,000 of the Land League funds. She claims that, while this money remains unaccounted for, the parties named and their followers have •no right to mock the suffering of the •distressed in Treland by their sh-im championship of (he starving peasantry. Miss Hyland, who brought a suit against Mr Biggar, M.P., for breach of promise, recovered, on. the Bth March, in a London Court, £400 damages. The parties' were introduced in Paris by Patrick Egan, Treasurer of the Land League; who, according to the complainant, was responsible for bringingthe suit. The lady further stated that Egan left Dublin to avoid being called as a witness.
