-»_ [PBB UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION.! Timabu, This Day. The principal total of the agricultural returns for the county of Waimate this year are as follows; — Total number of holdings, 346. Of land broken up, but under crop, the return is 13,747 acres. The area under wheat is returned at 24,989 acres, and the estimated produce 710,761 bushels. Ihe area under oats is 20,057 acres, and the estimated produce 75 1 ,842 bushels. The acreage under barley is 1354, and the produce 43,156 bushels. The area under grass on land broken up, including 953 acres of hay, is 107,827 acres. There are 17,480 acres under turnips and rape. There are 287 acres under potatoes, estimated produce being 1570 tons. The total number of acres under crop, including sown grasses, is given as 172,529, an increase of 14,175 acres on last year's total.
