CORRESPONDENCE.

■» PRO BONO PUBLICO IN SEPLY. TO THE EDITOE OF THE FEJLDING STAR. Sib, — Your correspondent of the Bth thinks I did vrrong to sign myself, " Pro Bono Publico." Well, Ido not think he made any mistake in calling himself " Battle-Axe," (the brand of his favorite tipple). I will give him another bit (not of my advice, but opinion) : he must be about as useless as the weapon he takes the name of, or he never would talk about postponing any public work for the next twenty years. He nest says I made an unwarrantable attack on the Council. I will -just remind him how full of promises those same Councillors were about the Kimbolton Boad and Manche.-^er street drains. One more question and a little advice and I have done. Which is the most needful ? to make two roads, Pergusson street to Warwick street, from Manchester street down the side of Roe's Hotel, and Warwick street, from Fergusson street to Kimbolton road, or to fill up those two public nuisances, the Kimbolton road and Manchester street drains? Now for a little more "disinterested" advice. My good "Battle-Axe," take great care of your precious self, for suck a " running" punster must have a grand future before him. Who can tell but that he might get that office, the consideration of which was postponed some little time back, and thus help me to get rid of my refuse.— l am, &c, Pbo Boko Publico.
