.» SPECIAL TO "STAR." [by electric telkgraph. — copyright.] reuter's telegrams. London, March 8. At the wool sales to-day 11,903 bales were catalogued. There was a good demand for fine wools, but inferior and medium qualities were neglected. The homeward mails via Naples, which left .Melbourne per John Elder on January 24th, were delivered here to-day. The cargo of frozen mutton, ex Sorento from Port Chalmers, has now all' been disposed of at an average of 6kl per lb. Paris, March 8. Byrne is still detained in custody, pending the arrival of a fresh warrant charging him with complicity in the murder of Field, the juryman, and in the attempt on the life of Judge Lawson.
