[PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION^ Dunedin, This Day. The licensing elections to-day resulted in a victory for the publicans in each of the three wards were contests took place. In Dunedin Central only Mr Stout, of the Templar candidates, was elected. It is reported that Pilbrow has purchased Sir Modred. Gisborne. This Day. After a short distance Virginia Water was pulled up, leaving Tim Whiffier to win. Lucks All won the County Stakes Handicap, Erickhorne, 2. The Tradesmans Handidicap — Romeo, 1 ; Piscatorious 2. Bart won the Selling Race, Glenfern, 2. Patea, I his Day. John Black, Clerk of County Council, was charged yesterday with embezzling £12 and £5, the property of the Council. He was committed for trail. Bail was allowed, himself iv £200, and two sureties of £100 each.
