KIWITEA HIGHWAY BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board took place -at the Manchester Highway Board office on Thnrsdry, at 12 noon. Present, Wardens Taylor. f-chair-man) Davies. McKenzie, and Williamson, The iniHute. of the last meeting were read and -confirmed. The following correspondence was read: From H. Stewart and other settlers in the HttPhor Board Block, -equesting the Board to form a track so as to give them an outlet in the Kimbolton road. From Denton and Billett, re falling a. road line to enable them to fence. From Crown Land-s Office, re balance of deferred payment money due to the Board. From Vlanawatu Highwcy Board, re date of meetings relative to suspending County Act or otherwise. From M r Bray, application for post of engineer. Proposed T>y Warden Williamson, acd seconded by Warden Davies, That ■this Board accept suggestion made by the Manawat-u Harbour Board, and that a meeting be -catted as suggested on the 15th February Proposed 'by Warden McKenzie, and and seconded by Warden Davies, That Mr Williamson be empowered to have fallen trees cleared from Sinclair's line. Proposed by Warden Williamson, and seconded by Warden Taylor, That on arrwal of 'information from tbe Treasurer a tracing be forwarded to the Crown Lands Board which is necessary to obtain the propoeed expenditure of ihe subsidy. Proposed by Warden McKenzie, and seconded by Warden Davies, That Mr Denton be allowed to fall the road line -in the Harbour Born-d Block, -price not to exceed 85s per acre, to be puid when "the Pohangina ward is m funds. Proposed by Warden McKenzie, aud seconded by Warden Williamson, That the Secretary write to the <Ti airman _ of the Wanganui Harbour Board asking them expend a sum of £60 towards opening up the -road approved by Air Peat and .he-engineer between the Kimbolton road and Oroua rive:, into the Harbour Board B<o :k, and also enclosed Kiopy of letter from settlers. Proposed by Warden Williamson, and seconded by Warden Taylor, That the Secretary open up ■■■ ccour t at the Bank of Australasia, Feilding, cheques to be signed by Messrs Williamson and McT. enzie. The accounts were held over till next meeting. Proposed by Warden Taylor, and seconded by Warden McKenzie, That the usual monthly meetings of die Board be fixed ior the third Monday -in every month, at 2 p.m., the nest meeting to be held on Monday -Ist instant. Tho Board then adjourned.
