FOXTON RACES.
»■ The first meeting, under the auspices of the Foxton Racing Club, is announced in another column, for Monday next, (Anniversary Day). The races will -be' held on the Foxton -Racecourse, the morning train from Halcombe arming in time to permit of passengers witnessing the first xace. We understand erery arrangement has "been made conducive to the public convenience, and the Wellington Artillery Sand has been specially engaged to play on the ground during the day. A very -satisfactory programme has been drawn up, and the prizes offered should be productive of ' a -good field for each -event. The District Manager ofKailways has not over-looked the convenience of settlers at a &Btance*who anaj be desirous of attending the races. The morning train Trill leaxe Haloombe -at 9 ! a.m., Feilding, 9.30, and Palmerston 10.10 ajn. There will doubtless be a large attendance, and with fine weather* the first annual meeting of the Foxton Boeing Club should prove an unqualified swsoeis.
