A COMPLAINT.

TO TITE EDITOR OF THE FEILDITO STAB, Sib, — I am glad to observe that 70s hare a strong desire to support any movement for the moral and physical welfare of this good city. Having this opinion, I would like to ask through your columns, that the young men who perch themselves on the railing of the bridge in Manchester-street every Sunday evening about Church time should observe some decency. J. do not object to them thus perching, for if they like to make themselves ridiculous, that is their affair; what I, and other ladies object to, is the fumes of bad tobacco they smoke, and the wicked and evil words that fall from their lips, to the horror and disgust of tenderly nurtured females. I think, if the officers of the Church adjoining, were forcibly to compel these lads to attend a place of worship it would do them good. As they are all well and comfortably dressed it makes the contrast between their appearance and their language and habits all the more striking, and one cannot help pitying them for their cad ignorance. I do not know if the Borough Bye-laws make any provisions for removing such nuisances, but suppose if they did, they are Allowed to be forgotten. — I am, <fee, Helen, [Clauses 2 and 7 in the Borough Byelaws provide for the above, and we hwe no doubt Constable Price will look into the matter 'complained of. — Ed. F.SJ
