SAW-MILL IMPROVEMENTS.

The following is a description of the new boiler made by Mr D. Murray. founder, of Wanganui, to the order of Messrs W . L. "Bailey, Bros., of the Taonui steam saw-mills. The boiler is extra sized, tubular, with 55 tubes, and 25 horse power, to drive an 18 horse power engine. The length is 14ft. and the diameter sft. The workmanship is of first-class order, and reflects great credit on the Foundry. la order to have it properly placed in its bed, Mr Murray accompanied the boiler j by train to Taonui on Thursday. The largely increasing demand for timber has ___S»ade it necessary for Messrs Bailey, Bros? to supplement their engine power to enable them to meet it, and the new boiler now being erected is expected to fulfil their requirements for many months to oome. The engines at Trondj em, the properly of Messrs Eichter, Nannestad, and Co., are also being added to by VI r M urray, a new and improved cylinder being in course of completion, which will be fitted In a few days, after the 'J aonui mills are in working order and Mr Murray at liesure to superintend the work. Mr Murray not only turns good work out of his Foundry, but h« likes to see it properly started before he is perfectly satisfied that his customer's interests are well looked after.
