The quantity of cream usually obtained from well- f i'il cow* is one quart from J2 quarts of milk, and this quart ought to yield one and a quarter lb of butter. The mane of ;i Imrse may be made to grow or one side by plaiting it in locks and weaving pieties of wire in the plaits. The growth may soon he forced in the desired direction. A biislu-l of sunflower seed will produce a gallon of oil, and 40 bushels of seed per acre is not an extra large yield. The refuse makes one of the best fattening t-akes for cattle. ■
