DIRECT STEAM COMMUNICATION.

The decision of tlie New Zealand 1 Shipping Company, which was announced some weeks a°:o to commence at once the running of a line of direct steamers between New Zealand and Great Britain, has now assumed a practical shape. Tha departure is announced of the pioneer steamer, the British King-, from London on the 20th prox., and from New Zealand on the 31st March, to be followed a month later by the British Queen, and thenceforward by a monthly service of similarly fine steamships. We cordially wish the company all success in this new and important venture, and hope it will meet with hearty and liberal support from the public — Post.
