SUICIDE AT AUCKLAND
(pee united pbkss association.) Auckland, This Day. H. J- Smith, for many years commercial traveller for Arch, CJark, and Sons, warehousemen, poisoned himself &t his residence at the .North Shore, j'esterday. He had been at the races with his wife, and seemed in good health. After his return he went into his own room, and his wife going in some time afterwards fouud him lying d-own with two empty bottles of phlornl. A doctor was sent for who applied tl»p stomach pump with no avail, ilie patient dying soon afterwards. It is not known whether the case is suicide, or \ whether he had taken an overdose of the drug. JNo cause is known for the suicide.
