We compile the following from the Government Gazette, of the 19th instant, giving the traffic returns for the four weeks ending Sept. 16tli, 1882, on the Wanganui section of railway : — 1882. 1881.
As we stated would be probable, whec I commenting on the returns for the period
ending Autjust 19th, a considerable incronse is here apparent, viz., £792 8s lOd over the corresponding period in 1881. and an advance of £1321 75s 6d over i he prorious uionth. It is satisfactory to know that Feilding has contributed nearly the whole of this increase 10 tin 1 revenue — a fjood criterion of the incre.-tsin<* prosperity of the district. T i i c current period promises to show similar excellent results.
