FEILDING STATE SCHOOL EXAMINATION.
The examination of the eilding State School look place on Thursday and Frid y last, sth and sth instants. We are informed that this is the first occasion on which any children have been presented for examination under Standard VI, and that the successful candidate has passed through the school, having been placed, on her entrance in December, 1874, in the lowest class. Pass Marks, 260. 1 presented. 1 passed. Emily Pone, 307. Mr Foulis expressed himself highly pleased with the self-respect shown by the examinees, especially with the three higher standards. Their steady application was very gratifying. The needlework was highly commended ; many specimens being shown that would have been no disgrace to an adu t seamstress. The drawing-books were also much praised. The singing of some school songs, rendered in good time and tune, m and with. considerable taste, followed by \ hearty cheers for inspecter and teachers ended the second day's work.
