Sept mber2l. The Government have called upon Dr Barker to resign his appointment to the Victorian Medical Board. Dr Barker has given a categorical denial to the statement that he attempted to procure an abortion in the case of the late Mrs Stent, and demands an enquiry into the charge. . A report is current here this evening that O'Farreli, who w r as recently sentenced to two years' imprisonment in .Melbourne gaol for his attack upon • Archbishop Gould, has attempted to commit suicide.
