I Wholesale dismissals have been made | in the police force of the men who attended the recent meeting of malcontents. Troops have been drafted off to occupy the police stations in this city and sub- ' urbs, and special constables are beiug sworn in. An extensive strike of constables resuited in serious rioting by some rogues who attacked and seriously damaged houses and shops. The troops were called out and charged the rioters and severely punished thein. September 3. The majority of constables on strike expressed penitence and returned to duty. Further riotiug was suppressed by the military. L ndon, September 4. I'urther serious rioting in Dublin. Tlie military cleared the streets by charging with fixed buyonet..
