VEHY LATEST. BURNING OP VILLAGES. RETREAT OF THE ENEMY FROM THE CANAL. BRITISH TROOPS TO ADVANCI ON SUNDAY. [by telkgeaph] Au-.vi.vDi.M.v, August 24. The regiments of Household Cavalrj and British mounted infantry, which left Ismalia yesterday, hare advanced beyond Nefisch place, which was recently occupied. No opposition was met with from the enemy's forces. The rabble and camp followers congregajted at Kiifradower are now retiring thence into the interior, their retreat being marked by the villages they are burning as they pass. The enemy is in strong force at Menalletrel Keber, to the north-east of Tantah. An advance guard of 30,000 men occupied an entrenched position near Ismalia. Two vessels laden with Turkish troops have left Rhodes, steaming in a southwesterly direction. The Nile is inundating the surrounding country. All the positions held by Arabi's forces between Suez and Ismalia have now been evacuated, and the enemy has reticited in a zig-zag and disarderiv manner The fresh water supply to the places along the canal and to Alexandria are found to be (ufficient for all requiremeats. The deserters coming in irom the enemy are very numerous. Thousands appear to have been intimidated into joining Arabi. The forces encamped at Menalletrel Keber number 250) men and 60 guns . Ten Greek pillagers have been shot at Ismalia Sir Samel Wolseley, is. now at Nefisch. It is expected that a general advance of the troops under hit command will be made on Sunday next.
