A SAD TALE OF THE SEA.
A sad storyof the sea is reported by. Captain Hetherington. of the bs. Arra_more, w_ticn recently arrived in Glasgow* : While off Tory Island a boat was observed floating on the water. , The .vessel, was stopped and the small craft picked up, when it was found to contain the body of a fisherman who nad apparently died from exposure. The boat, which is almost new, is about 25 feet in length, and has on the stern the name '* H. Dugari," and on the bow the letters "L. Y." Captain Hetherington is of opinion that the boat had been upset in one of the recent storms, that it bad subsequently righted, and that the deceased had got into it and baled 'out the water with one of his boots which lpy in the bottom of the boat. The wind being off shore, he had beeu unable unaided to make the" land, and had- thusrperished: Deceased; appeared to have been about thirty years ot age, alou. 5it..; lOin. [in, height, and was very well clad in strong fisherman's cl.thes. His beard showed about a week's growth, and the body is a goad deal worn and emaciated. From the size oi the boat it is thought she would have had a crew of five men, all ol whom have thus no doubt per-?-hpd. — Home Paper.
