The ground was all that could be desired, 'eotr'sderibg the wet weather during the past week. It was remarkably dry and free from mud pools — as the ground in<f eilding is nofc. • Play commenced shortly after 8 p.m., Palmersfcon 'kicking off. In the first twenty minutes Feilding got well up to the Palmerston goal, compelling their opponents to force down. In the second twenty minutes Palmerston scored a touch-down,' Captain Harrison having made ,a capital run with the ball. The "fry at goal was, unsuccessful. In ; thfe 1 third ' twenty' minutes Feilding obtained a touch-down, Mr A Smith haying . shown his. running powers greatly, and . .he chained; this paint. The try for goal, which was a difficult [one, was a- failure. We 'should advise our players 'to practice with energy with •'. ''a-' vieWrtif being prepared' to meet Wan--1 j ganni with a Strong team. ~| ATTjaTlc'nge is also expected from the ."
