_ «. ' (BY TELEGRAPH.) Wellington, June 16. A deputation from the New Zealand Rifle Association waited on Mr Bryce this morning, asking that the Government grant should be increased to £1000, so as to allow the value of prizes to be increased. The deputation mentioned that future meetings would be peripatetic, and probably be next held at Dunedin. Mr Bryce leplied that he could not at present give a definite answer, but would, brinf the matter before the Cabinet. He intimated, however, that in the event of the £1000 being granted, he would not sanction any further grants by Government in aid of the purchase of tents, etc.
