The Native Prisoners.
The Hinemoa arrived at Auckland on Saturday last with the Natives who we're recently liberated at Dunedin. A large gathering assembled on th'r beach to 'witness the return of the exiles. Amongst the spectators there were about thirty natives. As the boat approached the beach the -Native women commenced a soiig of welcome, accompanied by the waving of shawls and scarfs. to expectation, no answer to these demonstrations was given by Urinatives in the boat, who landed in u.''♦"cry quiet manner, and not evmeiiig 'the least gladness. After they landed from the boat with their swags ami blankets, they proceeded to the boat; sheds, and were there 'welcomed :Uike by Europeans and Maoris.' They shook hands with nut a few townspeople most cordially, and appeared well pleased'-d their kindly reception. After a feu minutes' delay the natives wended their Vay from the beach to the Native Ollt'cx-. where the formal native reception was accorded 'thi-in in the shape of a tangi.
