BAND CONCERT.

HELD LAST EVENING. lON.IO YAB L B F UN< IT I ON. A concert arranged by the Pukekohe Municipal Band was held in the'Strand Theatre last evening. There was a big attendance, and the function proved thoroughly enjoyable. The band opened proceedings With a march and later rendered the • “Village Blacksmith” and “Austral” in splendid style. Other items were given by Misses T. Fitness, N. Bland ford, Mr Innis Denton, the orchestra comprising Mrs Deed. Messrs C. S Stuart.. I. Stuart, C. Holt. C. Deed, A." Morris, C. Wright, and E W Pook, and an instrumental trio consisting.of Mrs Deed and Messrs Deed and C. S. Stuart, - The entertainment was concluded with the National Anthem.

A collection.was taken up on behalf of the band and a credilable amount

,realised. Owing to indisposition Miss R. Ghellburg. who had promised to sing, was unable to fulfil the engagement.
