STRAND THEATRE TUESDAY.
KENNETH LM BETTS CONCERT. Much public interest has been tiroused in the appearance at the Strand Theatre on Tuesday night of Mr Kenneth Impett, the popular New Zealand baritone vocalist, and his talented party of musicians and entertainers. A feature of the programme lo be presented, will be the singing of the phenomenal boy soprano. Master Bert. Skoels. Hie lad who has the distinction of having won every competition for which lie has entered. His extraordinary range from low A to top C. has astounded Hie judges lie has appeared before. Miss Ruby Phillips, a classical danseuse, is also a great favourite, and tier quick foot work, always accurate and neat, has earned for her the highest praise. Miss Muriel Neale, the gifted contralto singer, will repeat, in response to many requests from her admirers here, her famous “negro spirituals” and plantation melodies. in addition to giving a budget of charming new English songs and ballads; Miss Helena Venables, the brilliant solo pianist of the party, will be heard in Liszt’s celebrated paraphrase of the opera “Rigoletto.” as well as other pianoforte gems of arresting interest. Miss Venables made such a firm impression at the Town Hall organ recitals in Auckland some weeks ago that she has been re-engaged for another series. The popular local vio- I linisl.
