BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING, A special meer.ng of the Otahuhu Borough Couneii was held in the Council Chambers on Thursday last, the Mayor (Mr R B. Todd) presiding. There ■ were also present: Councillors Brady. Clements, Hall, Nicholis, Pres tone, Shepherd and Whiteley. Tenders for Reservoir. JEour tenders were received for the work of constructing the new reservoir, the lowest, that of Messrs (T. Julian and Son, £2411, being accepted by the Council. A communication was received, from the Under-Secretary of Lands stating- that the Minister of Lands had approved of the ..nsertion of a clause in the Washing-up Bill this session authorising t'he renewal of the lease of che resdrvoir site on Mount Richmond. Mr A. Cummings wrote with reference to dangerous stock (bulls, etc,) on the roads, and suggesting that the Council pass a by-law to the effect that such stock should be led through the Borough. The letter was received The Borough engineer (Mr A. GWalker) submitted the specifications for the work of iayng the new main on the Hokor.u. Estate. The matter was referred to the Water and Drainage Committee to call for tenders. Noxious VVteds^ It was decided to request the Government to appoint the new Borough foreman (».r W. J Hughes) Inspector of Noxious Weeds for the Borough. Messrs Ha-rison and Grierson submitted a plan of a pioposed sub-di-vision of Dr Rowley’s property for approval by the Council The plan was approved Mr ,H. Jackson submitted a Land Transef plan of Mr J. J. Thomasen’s property in accordance with the scheme of sub-division recently approved by the Count?. 1. and asked that the seal of the Council be affixed thereto. The affixing of the seal was outnevised by Hie Council The Mayor stated * that he had been waited on.o by a deputation consisting of the Rev. Hoskiug and. Mr T.
