SCHOOL CONCERT ' AN IMMENSE SUCCESS. An overwhelming proof that Tuakau needs a large up-<to-date town hall was again evidenced by the large audience that crammed into Reveli’s Hall on Friday evening last to hear the school concert., Many could not find seats and a number could not even get inside. The concert, which was Jn aid of the school piano fund, was a whirlwind success, every item being appreciated to the fulk The amount of patience expended in training the little children reflects the greatest credit on the organisers. During the ceremony. Mr Frost, chairman of the School Committee, and Mr Graham, the popular headmaster, delivered short and effective speeches. The programme was as follows : Orchestral overture National Anthem f chorus, Standards 4, 5 and. 6, “Laugh and the world laughs with you”; recitation, ’‘Our Flag,” Master Jack Andrews ; “I See . You” (song and dance) ; recitation, Mr Tollerton “Punchinello and Budie’s Answen,” Primer children, soloists: Miss Doris Kewish and Master Claude Finch; violin solo, Mr Kleiin. man; song, Miss Aileen Roberts recitation, “The Wind, 1 ” Miss Norma Westland: chorus, Standards 4, 5 and 6, “Tf the waters could speak:” ; pianoforte solo, Master Jim Irving ; orchestral overture; “The Hat Shop,” by senior girls ; “How d’ye do,” (song and dance) ; song, ‘<Fly away birdie to Heaven,” Miss Ruth Bush; recitation, “The Torch of Life,” Miss Mary McGuire; swing song, “A shower of roses*” Misses Laurel Rehall, Winnie Elliott, Mavis Lapwood, Ruth Bush. Agnes Mungafl, Alda Austin “(The old umbrella,” Misses Joyce Collins and Lucilla Dromgool and Master Teddy Frost; dialogue, “The Yokel’s surprise,” arranged by Boy Scouts; eonjuring, Mr Toilerton.
